KidFest 26 – Summer Reading Program Kickoff

Kids, visit us on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM for the Summer Reading program kickoff in conjunction with KIDFEST 26.

This “In One Accord” event is being co-sponsored by numerous Gallia County agencies and organizations and will take place on the library grounds.

This year’s Summer Reading Program theme is “Unearth a Story”, and KIDFEST 26 will feature dinosaur-themed games, activities and crafts for children. Among the many activities, games, and crafts will be:

Dinosaurs with Ohio Valley Dinosaur
The Gallipolis Fire Department and Bridgeport Equipment will also be on hand for a “touch-a-truck” event. Wolfe Mountain Entertainment will perform their short play “Danny the Dinosaur” in the Riverside Room at 11:45 AM and 1:00 PM. “Celebrate America: 250 Years of Freedom” video will be shown in the Switzer Room. Free books, coloring books, and other prizes will also be available, while supplies last.

This event is free and open to all.

Summer Reading Program sign-ups will begin on Monday, June 8 at the library. Children, tweens and teens are encouraged to register to earn prizes for reading this summer.
