A visit to the Traveling Bricks exhibition makes for a perfect group outing or school field trip.

Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to make a free reservation by calling the Library at 740.446.7323, extension 229, 233, or 235.

Parties of less than 10 are not required to make a reservation.

Walk-ins are welcome on a first come, first served basis.

The Excitement is “Building”!

Bossard Memorial Library is pleased to announce its upcoming hosting of Traveling Bricks — a spectacular international touring exhibition that reimagines the history of human transportation and technological advancement through the universal language of LEGO® style brick art.

This one-of-a-kind exhibit will be on display at Bossard Library from January 17, 2026 through April 19, 2026.

Crafted by professional artists, Traveling Bricks showcases 120 stunning models across 60 themed scenes, using more than 1 million LEGO® bricks. 

In order to make the exhibit enjoyable for all, please obey the exhibit rules listed below:

• No food, drink, or chewing gum
• No touching of the exhibit models
• Ages 12 and under admitted with a responsible adult
• Strollers, scooters, and wheelchairs are permitted
• Photography is permitted in the exhibit area only
• Professional and commercial photography is not allowed
• No flash photography
• No videography please
• No running

Dungeons & Dragons! Uno! Scrabble! Magic the Gathering! One Night Ultimate Werewolf! Monopoly! Checkers! Candyland! Mahjong!

Bring your favorite tabletop, RPG, board, or card game (or two) from home or choose a game from our collection. All ages and playing skills are welcome. Those ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Stay all day or just come in for a few hours. Try out new games or revisit old favorites. Please note that if you bring your own games, make sure to keep track of all of the pieces. The library will not assume responsibility for any lost items.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Make Your Own Mini Zen Garden
Dates: Saturday, February 28th

In this creative mindfulness workshop, you’ll design a mini Zen garden you can keep close—tucked into a purse, placed on a desk, set in your car, or resting by your bedside—so moments of grounding stay within reach throughout your day.
We’ll begin with a gentle intention-setting meditation, paired with a warm offering of hibiscus lavender tea to help settle the body and mind. From there, you’ll create your own portable Zen garden using thoughtfully selected materials. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore a variety of small tools, each creating different lines and textures, allowing your hands to discover what feels most calming and supportive.
Once your garden feels complete, you’ll be guided through a Zen garden meditation, learning how to return to this small retreat whenever stress rises or focus drifts.

• All materials to create your mini portable Zen garden
• A selection of small tools for exploring patterns and textures
• Intention-setting meditation

• Hibiscus tea
You’re welcome to bring small personal items—stones, charms, shells, or meaningful objects—to include in your garden.
You’ll leave with a portable retreat designed to support stress relief, mindfulness, and peaceful intention—whenever you need it.

The French City Writers’ Guild meets at 5:30 PM on the second Thursday of the month.

Are you interested in creative writing? Do you want to be able to share your ideas and written works?

If so, you are invited to join the French City Writers’ Guild. The Writers’ Guild is an open forum writing group that enables you to share your works and meet others who share your passion for writing.

Our goal is to provide a comfortable place for writers to read their works to an audience and receive constructive feedback, hear the works of others, network with other local writers, and hone their craft.

Meetings are for those ages 18+ as, on occasion, works with more mature content may be presented and discussed. Light refreshments will be served.

Maestro Peter Stafford Wilson takes us to the British Isles for an evening of Celtic Dreams on March 21 with an evening of music from Ireland, Scotland and England. Doreen Carwithen’s pastoral Suffolk Suite opens the program and Concertmaster Manami White performs Vaughan Williams The Lark Ascending. The OVS offers up Malcolm Arnold’s Scottish Dances, Leroy Anderson’s Irish Suite and the evocative Shropshire Lad by George Butterworth.
