Ohio’s rail legacy runs on endurance. Railroads transformed how people and products moved, tying Ohio’s farms, factories, and cities to the rest of the nation. Stations welcomed travelers, freight yards powered economies, and steel rails reshaped the landscape itself. Ohio’s railroad story is one of connection.
The Ohio Transportation Trail is a statewide, self-guided driving trail launched by America 250-Ohio to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary. It features over 80 experiential sites statewide that tell the story of how Ohio’s aviation, rail, waterway, and automotive innovations shaped the nation.
