2014 Raccoon Creek Water Trail Associate Fall Canoe Float
Sunday, October 5th at 10:00 am
Join the Raccoon Creek Water Trail Association as they float down Raccoon Creek to the Ohio River! The float will be about 5 miles long (2-3 hours) and paddlers of all skill levels and children (accompanied by an adult) are welcome.
Paddlers can bring their own canoe or reserve one (limited number available).
They will meet where State Route 218 crosses Raccoon Creek near Thivener at 10:00 am. There is roadside parking along SR 218. The take out is at the State Route 7 bridge. RCWTA will provide shuttles back to the parking area after the float. Dress for the weather and bring lots of water and a lunch!

The Ohio Valley Symphony celebrates its 25th Anniversary at the Ariel-Dater Hall, 426 Second Avenue. Praised by The New York Times for his “electrifying performances” which “conveyed every nuance,” American cellist Jay Campbell is the First Prize Winner of the 2012 CAG Victor Elmaleh International Competition. This spellbinding artist combines eclectic musical interests and a diverse spectrum of repertoire, which has led to collaborations with musicians ranging from Elliott Carter and Pierre Boulez to David Lang and John Zorn to members of Radiohead and Einsturzende Neubauten. Performance begins at 8:00 pm.

The French Art Colony will present “Rick K and the Allnighters” in concert at the Berry Fine & Performing Arts Center, University of Rio Grande. The concert is part of the FAC’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. Rick K and the Allnighters are known as America’s most exciting show band, offering music from the 1950s through today. Their concert is like a road trip – a high speed, cross country, tour of rock’s greatest hits. The performance begins at 8:00 pm.
